Position?Summary: ???? The Marketing & Communications Coordinator reports to and assists the Director/Vice President of Development and Advancement

in identifying, cultivating, soliciting and stewarding relationships with corporate, foundation and high net worth donors.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

Marketing Communications

  • Assist the Director/Vice President of Development and Advancement in developing and implementing a long-term fundraising, marketing and media plan for Relief International
  • Seek out new funding opportunities, submit proposals and assume responsibility for compliance
  • Create, organize, and manage, fund raising campaigns
  • Maintain donor database
  • Oversee organizational responses to inquiries about Relief International
  • Identify, secure and communicate with foundation/corporate/high net worth

  • Develop strategies to create momentum and awareness of Relief International
  • Represent Relief International at events and online
  • Write press releases for media and articles for Relief International publications
  • Other duties and related special projects as assigned
  • General administrative duties

Social Media

  • Own all relevant social media platforms with a focus on driving community advocacy to generate brand growth and positive sentiment for the organization, as well as being tasked with creating new, innovative and talk-worthy content to drive awareness and engagement
  • Produce online content that engages audience segments and leads to measurable action
  • Develop and implement a strategic social media/marketing/communications plan to advance Relief International?s brand identity; broaden awareness of its programs and priorities and increase the visibility of its programs across key audiences
  • Develop and implement integrated social media strategy to achieve goals including: traffic generation, donor base growth, community activation, positive sentiment, exposure, etc.
  • Coordinate with other departments to lead execution of integrated social media fund raising campaigns
  • Recommend new social media tools, sites, and applications as part of the social media mix
  • Be ahead of all the emerging social and mobile trends! What is next!

Branding

  • Develop and implement a strategic communications plan to advance Relief International?s brand identity; broaden awareness of its programs and priorities and increase the visibility of its programs across key audiences
  • Serve as social media editor-in-chief and social media ?brand voice??set guidelines in line with industry best practices for social media and share those guidelines with all contributors retaining final sign-off/approval of all posts
  • Develop social media policies, best practices, and contributor training programs to ensure Relief International meets or exceeds industry best practices and advances its brand goals

QUALIFICATIONS & REQUIREMENTS:

This position demands a dynamic individual with a demonstrated ability to achieve results in a demanding and fast paced environment.

  • A Bachelor?s Degree in Marketing or a related field

  • Strong planning, organizational, time management, and multi-tasking skills
  • Super-strong communication, writing, and editing skills; proposal development experience is? highly desirable
  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships with donors through various forms of communication
  • Ability to build relationships and be sensitive to communication and differences in dealing with people from different cultures
  • Excellent verbal, listening and interpersonal communication skills
  • Knowledge of marketing, social media and fund development techniques
  • Computer experience essential with proficiency in word processing, desktop publishing, spreadsheet, presentation and database software.
  • Initiative and independence combined with the ability to work as part of a team
  • Innovative thinker, with a track record for translating strategic thinking into action plans and output
  • Flexibility, adaptability and openness to change
  • Ability to work with minimal instruction or supervision
  • Ability to travel domestically as required and willingness to travel internationally if needed
  • Highly energetic and motivated social marketing leader
  • In-depth understanding of social media platforms, their participants and their community dynamics [i.e., Facebook, Twitter, Youtube, Linkedin, etc.) and how they can be used on a standalone or integrated basis in different scenarios.
  • 3-5 years marketing experience with at least 2-3 years of social media strategy and execution
  • Excellent strategic planning, analytic, and research skills
  • Must thrive in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
  • Ability to generate ideas and work with minimal guidance
  • Knowledge of PR, risk management, and crisis communications preferred.
  • Copy editing and proof reading experience required. Must have a knack for editing others? work and the ability to transform technical information into informative, compelling copy, as well as comfort working with colleagues at all levels of the organization including senior management.
  • Must be highly effective at managing multiple projects and competing priorities.
  • Web publishing knowledge and HTML is preferred.
