Q&A: Finance company that bases auto loan on experian score?

Question by Mike A: Finance company that bases auto loan on experian score?
My experian score is 660 while my TU and Equifax scores are around 600. Does anyone know a finance company where I can get auto financing based upon my Experian score. I am not interested in some high interest loan based on my other scores, just Experian. Thanks.

'My heart's broken': New Yale grad mourned

Marina Keegan via Facebook

Writer and activist Marina Keegan.

By Sevil Omer, msnbc.com

Marina Keegan had just graduated from Yale University and was about to begin a dream job at The New Yorker. But Keegan, 22, was killed in a car crash Saturday and is being mourned as "an exceptional person, wildly talented, and with the confidence and character ... to have done fine things."

Keegan?wrote her last piece for a special edition of the Yale Daily News, the student newspaper, which distributed it at the Class of 2012?s commencement exercises earlier this month.

The newspaper republished?the essay, "Opposite of Loneliness," after her death.?It includes these lines: "We?re graduating college. We?re so young. We can?t, we MUST not lose this sense of possibility because in the end, it?s all we have.?

Read Marina Keegan's essay "Opposite of Loneliness"

On Saturday, Keegan and Michael Gocksch, 22, her boyfriend from New York and fellow Yale 2012?alum, were headed to join Keegan?s parents in Cape Cod, Mass., according to the Cape Cod Times.?Their road trip was in part to revise a musical that Keegan had written with two collaborators. The production was slated among performances at the New York International Fringe Festival this summer, the Cape Cod Times reported.

Keegan?s parents, Tracy and Kevin Keegan, told the Cape Cod Times that state troopers brought news of the accident.?Keegan was a passenger in a 1997 black Lexus that had drifted off the road and into the right guardrail, the Cape Cod Times reported. The car then careened across two lanes, hit a guardrail on the left, and rolled over at least twice, according to the Times.

Keegan died at the scene; Gocksch treated at Cape Cod Hospital and released, a hospital spokesman?told the newspaper.?

"My heart's broken," Kevin Keegan told the Cape Cod Times.

Keegan took on Wall Street recruiters on her college campus last year, served as president of the Yale College Democrats and was a member of Yale Occupy Movement, according the Yale Daily News.

This summer, Keegan had been looking forward to moving to Brooklyn: She?had been?hired at The New Yorker as an editorial assistant.?

?We were saddened to learn of the death of Marina Keegan, who was to start work at The New Yorker on June 11th; she had just graduated from Yale, where, by all accounts, she was an extraordinary presence,? The New Yorker said in a statement Tuesday. ?Her colleagues at The New Yorker were eagerly anticipating her return, and their thoughts, as well as those of the wider staff, are with her family and friends.?

Yale College Dean Mary Miller informed the Yale community of the tragedy in an email Sunday. "Marina was an exceptional young woman, an outstanding student and a dear friend and a vibrant member of this community," Miller said in the email, the Yale Daily News reported. "Her death is a tragedy for all who knew her."

?Marina was someone who looked at the world and knew it had to be changed, but at the same time saw there was beauty in it,? Yael Zinkow, a friend, told the Yale Daily News on Sunday.

?She was an exceptional person, wildly talented, and with the confidence and character (and personal modesty) to have done fine things,? English lecturer John Crowley, who advised Keegan on her writing concentration senior project, wrote in an email to the Yale Daily News. ?Her loss can?t be expressed ? to those who knew her, to her family, to her friends ? but the loss also to the world that lay before her."

Discovery promises unique medicine for treatment of chronic and diabetic wounds

ScienceDaily (May 28, 2012) ? A unique new medicine that can start and accelerate healing of diabetic and other chronic wounds is being developed at Ume? University in Sweden. After several years of successful experimental research, it is now ready for clinical testing.

Behind this new medicine is a group of researchers at the Department of Medical Chemistry and Biophysics who have made the unique finding that the protein plasminogen is a key-regulator that initiates and accelerates wound healing by triggering the inflammatory reaction. Their discovery is now being published in the journal Blood.

?Today we have the knowledge needed to develop a medicine,? says Professor Tor Ny, one of the authors of the article. ?The bulk of the preclinical research has been completed, and we have had meetings with the Medical Product Agency to discuss a program for clinical testing.?

Plasminogen is a well-known plasma protein that is produced in the liver and found in all bodily fluids. The Ume? researchers have now re-assessed its role and managed to show that the concentration of plasminogen increases dramatically in and around wounds, which is an important signal to start the inflammatory reaction required for healing. In diabetic wounds the level of plasminogen does not increase in the same way, and this seems to be the reason why these wounds do not heal. In diabetic mice and rats the researchers were able to show that the healing process starts immediately when plasminogen is injected around the wound, which then heals fully.

A cell line for producing plasminogen on a larger scale has also been developed, and the goal is to start clinical testing as soon as funding can be arranged. The researchers have high hopes, as plasminogen is an endogenous protein that can be assumed not to produce side effects.

The need for a biologics for treating chronic wounds is urgent. Diabetic wounds that do not heal are the most severe type of chronic wounds, affecting millions of people annually. Many of the roughly 350 million diabetes patients in the world develop foot ulcers, and in 10-15 million cases this ultimately leads to amputation. Today?s treatment of diabetic wounds consists primarily of traditional wound care, with compresses and bandages; there is no effective medication.

The Ume? researchers are initially concentrating on diabetic wounds, but plasminogen also has great potential for working on other types of wounds. This includes tympanic membrane perforations and periodontitis. Being a pro-inflammatory activator, plasminogen has moreover been shown to be effective in combating antibiotic-resistant bacteria (MRSA).

Gum disease joins hot flashes and PMS associated with women's hormones

Women, keep those toothbrushes and dental floss handy. A comprehensive review of women's health studies by Charlene Krejci, associate clinical professor at the Case Western Reserve University School of Dental Medicine, has shown a link between women's health issues and gum disease.

Across the ages, hormonal changes take place during puberty, menstruation, pregnancy and menopause. Krejci found female hormones that fluctuate throughout women's lives can change conditions in the mouth that allow bacteria to grow, enter the blood, and exacerbate certain health issues like bone loss, fetal death and pre-term births.

Her overview of the literature was reported in the article, "Women's Health: Periodontitis and its Relation to Hormonal Changes, Adverse Pregnancy Outcomes and Osteoporosis" in the May issue of Oral Health and Preventive Dentistry.

The Case Western Reserve University periodontist reviewed 61 journal articles with nearly 100 studies for a collective answer on whether hormones have a relationship to gum disease and specific women's health issues like preterm labor, bone loss, and the side effect of hormonal replacement therapy.

"There's definitely a gender-specific connection between women's hormones, gum disease, and specific health issues impacting women," Krejci said.

"Although women tend to take better care of their oral health than men, the main message is women need to be even more vigilant about maintaining healthy teeth and gums to prevent or lessen the severity of some of women-specific health issues," Krejci said.

In addition to the brushing and flossing daily regimen, Krejci recommends visiting the dentist at least every six months, and more if there are any gum problems found or women suffer from bone loss or are pregnant.

She added that it is widely known that hormones cause some women gum problems during pregnancy. Women already susceptible to gum disease before being pregnant, she advises, need to make sure that these oral problems are treated.

Although women were once discouraged from seeing the dentist while pregnant, she said that scaling and planing of the roots of teeth to eliminate some gum disease is now recommended during pregnancy for women. Severe gum disease requiring surgery is still generally postponed until after the baby's birth.

Gum disease begins with the build up of bacterial plaque on the teeth and under the gums. Untreated it can cause irritation and inflammation during which harmful and toxic byproducts are released. These toxins erode the bone that anchors teeth and cause breaks and bleeding in the gums.

Collaborating with Krejci on the study was Nabil Bissada, professor and chair of the Department of Periodontology at Case Western Reserve University School of Dental Medicine.

Community Supports Hagen Family

Story Published: May 25, 2012 at 6:11 PM MDT

Story Updated: May 25, 2012 at 6:23 PM MDT

BILLINGS - The community is rallying behind a family that lost their home in a fire Saturday.

The Hagen's house on Vandaveer Road went up in flames at 7:15 Saturday night. Firefighters said the house is a total loss, but no damage estimates are available yet. A few local businesses are now joining forces to host a benefit for the family.

"Even in a recession, no matter what goes on, when somebody falls on hard times people just automatically pull together. I just think Billings is the best place to live, and we've got the greatest community that pulls together for each other a lot," organizer, John Blair said.

The benefit will take place June 16th. It starts at 4:00 p.m. and ends at 8:00 p.m. at the Blue Creek Fire Department. Food and entertainment will be available. They also hope to hold a silent auction. If you would like to help out, please call 259-0909.

Why Mayor McGinn's Wife Canceled Her Family's Seattle Times Subscription

A week ago, Seattle Times Executive Editor David Boardman wrote on Twitter:

Somehow I missed this when it happened. But when I learned about it yesterday, I called the mayor's office to see what was up.

Aaron Pickus, spokesman for Seattle Mayor Mike McGinn, stressed that the mayor's office still has multiple subscriptions to the Seattle Times and that McGinn himself definitely reads the paper?including Seattle Times clippings and links that Pickus spends a lot of his day sending around to the mayor and his staff. But Pickus confirmed that the McGinn household indeed canceled its subscription to the paper more than a year ago, after the publication of this story. Then he put me on the phone with McGinn's wife, Peg Lynch, so I could hear exactly why.

?I don?t want to make a big deal about this," Lynch told me. "We didn?t do it. I just did it myself. I kind of run the household stuff. But for me, my bike getting stolen, and the coverage of that, was just kind of the last straw."

The February 24, 2011 Seattle Times story that became the last straw?about McGinn borrowing his wife's bike, him leaving it unlocked, and that bike then disappearing at City Hall?was, according to Lynch, full of "bullying, cruel remarks," culled from e-mails from anonymous Seattle Times readers, including one reader who likened the mayor to Homer Simpson.

?It was kind of like a mean-spirited attack on Michael," Lynch said. "They just went from talking about a thief, which was kind of the point of the article, to kind of trashing Michael again in a personal way. There was no policy there that was being discussed, that I could see.?

Lynch said she'd grown tired of Seattle Times news articles that read like editorials against her husband, and saw the bike story as yet another example. "My kids read the paper," she said, adding that she'd begun hiding it from them when things appeared that were, to her, an example of the Seattle Times deciding to "jump on him one more time."

"Generally, I think the Times just kind of doesn?t like Mike," Lynch said. "I don?t think that?s a secret.?

For a long time, she'd been talking about canceling the subscription. So, one day in early 2011, after the publication of the bike-theft article, she picked up the phone. ?I just said I didn?t really enjoy reading it anymore, and I think I left it very general like that," Lynch told me. "I?m not trying to pick a fight with anybody. I just did not appreciate the product anymore.?

To clarify something she'd said earlier, I asked Lynch whether she believes the Seattle Times is bullying her husband.

?Don?t you?? she responded. ?I just couldn?t read that stuff anymore.?

I asked: What would you recommend they do differently?

?I would actually suggest that they read the Seattle Public Schools' anti-bullying policy,? Lynch replied. "If Mr. Boardman wants to talk to me about it, I?d be happy to talk to him about it. I really would.?

Boardman declined to respond to Lynch's statements, but noted: "I learned of the cancellation not from any customer data The Times has, but when I heard the mayor chuckling about it on talk radio."

(AP) ? Keira Knightley, the glamorous star of "Pirates of the Caribbean," is engaged to marry musician James Righton, her publicist said Friday.

Publicist Sara Keene said the couple were not releasing any details of the proposal, and did not have any comment on wedding plans.

Righton is a keyboard player for the rock group Klaxons. He and Knightley, 27, have been dating since early last year. Previously, Knightley dated actor Rupert Friend for several years.

Knightley first won notice for her role as a soccer-playing teenager in "Bend It Like Beckham."

Crystal Bell: 'Revenge' Finale Recap: The Most Shocking Death Ever

Note: Do not read on if you have not seen Season 1, Episode 22 of ABC's "Revenge," entitled "Reckoning."

Just when I had gotten to the point where I thought Emily Thorne's revenging was getting stale, "Revenge" managed to pull off one hell of an OMG! finale.

To be honest, the first 50 minutes left much to be desired, but as per usual, "Revenge" pulled out all the stops during the final 10 minutes. There were cliffhangers on top of cliffhangers -- and more than one life was potentially lost.

Let's start with the biggest OMG! moment of the night: Victoria Grayson is reportedly dead. Yes, you read that correctly. "Revenge" just seemingly killed off its biggest star -- the ever-scheming, bandage dress-wearing, icy Victoria.

Queen Vic was last seen boarding a plane to D.C. to testify for David Clarke's innocence, but that aircraft did not reach its final destination. Instead, it blew up on the tarmac, thanks to a bomb planted by the White Haired Man. When Emily spared the life of the creepy Initiative operative -- the assassin who killed her father -- she didn't quite realize what she had wrought.

But is Queen Vic really dead? I don't think so. Victoria knew that what she was doing was dangerous, and it looked like there was some hesitation as she was boarding the plane (in slow mo, of course). Conrad warned her that if she proceeded with the trial, her life would be at risk, and although at the time, she ignored him, Victoria has always managed to stay one step ahead of her estranged husband. So why would she start playing dumb now?

Not to mention that Madeleine Stowe gives one of the most wickedly enjoyable performances on TV. "Revenge" just won't be the same without Queen Vic throwing shade at her frenemies from across the room. My bet is that she wasn't on the plane when it exploded -- however, Lydia probably was, but I don't really care about her, so that's OK.

Queen Vic isn't the only Grayson with a questionable future. As predicted in last week's recap, Charlotte tries to kill herself. Little Grayson just wasn't able to deal with the news of her mother's death -- and when Declan told her to get lost -- she swallows a bunch of pills. The last we see of Charlotte, she's unconscious in Conrad's arms.

Honestly, I wouldn't mind if Little Grayson died. She's the worst part of the entire series. In her last mean girl act of the season, she exploited Declan's new friend from Yonkers and embarrassed her infront of the entire school. However, if Charlotte does die, Declan would obviously feel responsible for her death, but he wouldn't have much to do without his partner-in-crime. For that reason, I could see Charlotte surviving her overdose. I mean, these two useless characters need each other.

Although, I really hope they ship her off to a psychiatric ward for most of the second season. She's such a waste of space. I'd rather spend more time watching Emily's bitch face than I would watching Charlotte deal with her white girl problems.

On to the next OMG moment: Amanda is back (ugh), and she's pregnant with Jack's baby! (UGH!)

Was it really too much to ask for Takeda to kill off Faux-Manda? I really thought we were over her and her trashy short-shorts. Sadly, I was wrong. Now she's back and ready to wreck havoc on Emily and Jack's relationship.

Just when Emily was going to tell Jack the truth about everything, including her feelings for him, Faux-Manda appears out of nowhere and ruins everything. Of course, Jack is too good of a guy to ditch his pregnant kinda-sorta-girlfriend, but you can tell that he was a little disappointed to see Emily walk out of the Stowaway.

It's hard finding love in a hopeless place, Emily. Just ask Rihanna.

Finally, the last OMG moment of the finale sets up Emily's main objective for Season 2: Her mother isn't dead!

The Americon Initiative is one shady organization. Not only did they orchestrate David Clarke's death, but they also have something to do with Emily's mother's disappearance.

Just when Emily thought all of the evidence against Conrad was lost in the explosion, her BFF Nolan surprises her -- and once again proves why he's the best character on the entire series. He backed up the hard drive (full of evidence) before he handed it over to the SEC guy.

You may have a silly haircut, Nolan, but you're so smart! Emily and Nolan then watch some of the footage Nolan uncovered, and they discover that Victoria Grayson knew more about Emily's mother than she let on.

Nolan tells her that her mother is alive, to which Emily says her last line of Season 1 while staring at the video: "Let it play."

I really hope Victoria isn't actually dead. There's so much potential for Emily and Queen Vic to team up and take down Conrad and the Initiative that wants to see them all dead. Between Emily's bitch face and Victoria's shade, they'll be able to take down even the strongest of enemies.

More Notable Moments of the Season 1 Finale:

    • Daniel and Emily are officially dunzo, thanks to Ashley. It looks like we're going to see more of Daniel and Ashley together (shudder) next season. The Grayson Global duo are already getting cozy.
    • Victoria finally learns that Conrad had David killed, which only makes her want to bring down Conrad even more.
    • When Daniel tried to give Queen Vic major attitude, she SLAPS him across the face. It's one of the episode's finest moments. There's nothing I love more than a good Victoria slap.
    • Obvious foreshadowing alert: In the final minutes of "Reckoning," Conrad burns a photo of Victoria and Lydia.

    Notable Quotables:

Nolan: "You are way outmatched by that crazy albino."

Emily: "Nolan, if I don't make it out of this, tell Jack that I love him."

Emily: "I'm watching you become everything you said you never wanted to be."

Victoria: "Your father had David Clarke murdered!"

Emily: "Champagne does not seem appropriate, especially at 9 a.m."
    Nolan: "Champagne is always appropriate."

Declan: "You really are your mother's daughter."

Victoria: "Well, I guess I'll see you in hell."

Nolan: "OMG ... Just stay right where you are and don't do anything revenge-y until I get there."

What did you think of the "Revenge" finale? Let us know in the comments!
