The furry prehistoric animals are back once again in this kid-friendly series that always seems to leave room for more adventures.

Manny (voiced by Ray Romano), like many parents, has to deal with the trickier moments of parenting when his daughter, Peaches (Keke Palmer), is crushing on the ?popular? mammoth Ethan (voiced by Drake) and trying to get in with the in-crowd.

During a heated argument with his daughter, Manny is separated from his family and their community by a shift in the continental plates?all caused by the franchise?s mascot, Scrat, and his ongoing search for the Acorn.

Manny and his trusting buddies Sid (John Leguizamo) and Diego (Denis Leary) find themselves lost at sea and searching for land. The familiar trio tries to find the way home, but the journey is not an easy one as they encounter new characters like a prehistoric ape sea pirate named Captain Gutt (Peter Dinklage) and his crew, and an army of adorable hamster-like creatures.

Despite the addition of new characters voiced by big names like Jennifer Lopez, Aziz Ansari, Drake, and Nicki Minaj, Continental Drift is a far cry from its predecessors. While the writers try to convey some sound advice to their target preteen audience about not changing oneself to fit in with a crowd, the series has lost its originality that once captured fans? hearts.

This fourth and (hopefully) final installment of Ice Age is a visual feast in 3-D but offers only mindless and unmemorable storylines. It is rarely funny even for its target audience and relies heavily on its star power rather than its content.

Much of this film is as clich? as a preteen movie can be. The highlights of the film happen to be the mini comic-relief scenes when Scrat painstakingly chases after the Acorn and accidentally causes the continents to shift.

Preceded by ?The Simpsons? 3-D short The Longest Daycare, Ice Age: Continental Drift is easily outshined by and less entertaining than this four-minute clip. It?s not a positive sign when the short is funnier and more heartwarming than the feature itself.
